We ordered the Krisa King size bed, supposedly hard wood, and "mudramark" which is a trusted brand (according to them) blahblah. Few days after delivery we notice some white powder on the frame, but since it was supposed to be a brand new bed, we didn't think too much of it, and just brushed it off as the plywood shavings/powder from what was fitted on the frame.

A few weeks later, we we see the white powder on the frame again, and this time I take a torch and examine the area. Dozens of holes, from small to the largest (which was the noticeable white powder area) being about half cm width. BORER infestation! Panic, call pepperfry, who take a day to call me back, then they very calmly say, "we'll send a carpenter to examine the site".

I'm like OK, they are taking this seriously. Next day carpenter comes, says, "No no madam, not borer, termite" when everyone knows that white powder = borer is maximum cases. I am like, OK, I'm not the carpenter here, maybe he knows something I don't. I'm like, so when are you guys going to take this back?

Guess what they told me? "Not our responsibility to take the product back, since it is infested" . "Gayathri, my case officer" who told me she was a senior executive at Pepperfry says, "Mam, I am not sure if it was already in the other furniture and came to ours via yours." I am like, "you're joking, right? The rest of the furniture/woodwork has been there for over a year, without a single incident, and your furniture, a month old in my house, was infested by mine?

She doesn't seem to understand the logic. I am like whatever, I don't want to waste time, take it out of my house now. She is like, no mam, according to our policy, we will not take it back. I am steadily getting annoyed, and ask her, albeit calmly, so, what about examining the other furniture around it for infestation?

Answer is "Sorry mam, not in our policy to examine any product that is not purchased from pepperfry." I ask her, so, suppose you buy a box from me, and it is full of bugs, and you get those bugs all over your house, and you tell me, "Hey, your box gave me bugs!" so I am supposed to tell you, "Your decision to buy my box, now it is not my headache anymore, figure it out, I'll just refund your money"?! She has no answer except, "I understand what you are saying, but it is Pepperfry policy." Her manager, only slightly better, agrees to send a carpenter to dismantle and take it out, but still says "It is not pepperfry policy to examine other products that were not purchased from pepperfry." So you get bugs from pepperfry? Not their problem if it infests and eats your other furniture. You get bedbugs from their cushions or curtains, then not their problem that you are losing sleep.

After all, it was your decision to buy from Pepperfry. Now tell me, would you continue any dealing with such an unethical company?

Reason of review: Damaged or defective.

Monetary Loss: $72000.

Pepperfry Cons: Very bad delivery and product quality, Unreliable company.

Same problem with a bar cabinet I bought. They're making customers pay for their lack of quality control

Too little, too late. If I could undo my decision to even consider you guys as a viable option, I would.

You have broken trust at a very deep and fundamental level, and I have heard the same from every person I know who has purchased from you. If I had had the foresight to ask around before buying, I would not have touched your products with a ten foot pole.
